Cooks prepare various types of food dishes at the Kitchens of different facilities such as hotels, restaurants, canteens, guest houses, resorts, ships and eateries. They either follow standard recipes (or recipes prepared by Chefs) or create their own recipes to cook food dishes. They may cook food as per individual orders or cook for a large number of people. Career Track By Pathway 1

Class 10 with any subject - Entry-level job in a restaurants /café / canteen / mess / eatery.


After completing your secondary level school studies (class 10), you can directly opt for entry-level, low skilled jobs in /cafes/canteen/mess/food joints. This way you can gain practical cooking experience and learn the tricks of the trade before moving on to specialized cooking jobs.

Career Track By Pathway 2

Class 10 with any subject - Vocational/ITI course such as Craft Course in Cookery/Certificate Course in Chinese Food/Certificate Course in Continental Food/Certificate Course in Multi-Cuisine.


After completing your secondary level school studies (class 10), you can choose from a host of vocational/ITI cooking courses like Craft Course in Cookery/Certificate Course in Chinese Food/Certificate Course in Continental Food/Certificate Course in Multi-Cuisine. The duration of such courses can range anywhere between three months to one year.

Career Track By Pathway 3

Class 10 with any subject - Diploma courses such as Diploma in Cookery/Professional Cookery/Culinary Arts, Bakery & Pastry/Kitchen and Catering Operations.


After completing your secondary level school studies (class 10), you can choose to do a Diploma course in Cookery/Professional Cookery/Culinary Arts, Bakery & Pastry/Kitchen and Catering Operations. The duration of these courses can range anywhere between four months to two years.
