Dialysis is a procedure of removing waste and excess fluids from the blood of the patient. This occurs when there is a possibility of kidney failure or related diseases. Dialysis technicians ensure that the most important part of any medical procedure. They ensure that the machines are in good condition and operate properly as and when required. Their duty is to work extensively with patients and be able to communicate well with them. They set up the necessary equipment, prepare the patient, monitor the patient, check the blood pressure and obtain information that is relevant to the patient. They spend a lot of time with the doctors and patients alike and hence have to maintain positive energy and work environment and pass it on to others. Since they work for long hours, there should be good communication and understanding. 


Career Track By Pathway 1

Class 11-12 in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology – Diploma in Dialysis Technician.



After completing class 12 in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology, you can enroll for Diploma in Dialysis Technician from any ITI (Industrial Training Institute) or other vocational institutes. This course is usually 2 years of duration.


Career Track By Pathway 2

Class 11-12 in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology – B.Sc. in Dialysis Technology.



After completing class 12 in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, you can enroll for B.Sc. in Dialysis Technology. This course is of 3-years duration.


Career Track By Pathway 3

Class 10 with any subject - Class 11-12 in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology – Obtain an NSQF Level 4 qualification in Dialysis Technician.



After completing class 12 in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, you can obtain an NSQF (National Skills Qualification Framework) Level 4 qualification in Dialysis Technician from any vocational institute or other similar institutes. For this certificate, you need to be 18 years of age.
